Finally! Deadpool is here in his own big screen epic. I'll try to make this as spoiler free as possible but, here's your warning ahead of time. POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD! There, now that that's out of the way it's time for the big kids to play.
Ryan Reynolds is GOLD! Sure he's had some questionable roles in the past including another superhero movie, which we don't like to talk about. But I was surprisingly joyed with his performance. He did an incredible job at capturing the dumb and reckless nature of Deadpool. And the chemistry between him and T.J. Miller's character was absolutely spectacular (for how short-lived it was). I certainly love how well Reynolds did as the merc with a mouth.
This film blends comedy and action perfectly. I was dying laughing at parts in this movie. There's a scene where Deadpool confronts Colossus and attempts to fight him, resulting in most of Deadpool's limbs being broken. I was practically rolling in my seat and laughing harder every second the scene went on for. That scene was what I wanted from Deadpool in and of itself, and they added so much more.
The only gripe I had with the movie was how much they dwelled on the romance between Wade and Vanessa. It was a little unnecessary to see how much the two loved each other when I wanted to see more of Deadpool being a hilarious dumbass. Call me a typical dude but I really did like seeing Deadpool at his Deadpooliest when he was kicking ass and cracking jokes. Other than that, it was perfect.
All in all Deadpool is a hilarious romp in the psychotic mind of our merc with a mouth. Despite minor gripes, Deadpool comes out on top as one of the best films to come out in 2016 so far.
