Gifts are usually given to whichever lucky person's birthday it is, but this tradition might be reversed for Superman's big day. To mark his celebrations, he may be giving us the opportunity to buy early tickets to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!
The rumor is rooted in a tweet from 19 February, which shows a board outside a cinema in Oregon that advertises pre-sale tickets for February 29 at 5pm:
The Man of Steel's generally accepted birthday is on this date (2/29), as given in comics from 1960s - 1980s, and it would be a mighty way of celebrating it.
Interestingly, Bruce Wayne's falls only 11 days earlier - perhaps this is a hint at the ultimate victor...
Can we trust this tweet?
The tweet came from a dude called simply 'Leo', with 81 followers. I have a sneaking suspicion he's not Leonardo DiCaprio as his Wolf of Wall Street profile image suggests.
His recent Twitter history implies he's fanatical about the upcoming film, but then again, so is everyone else.
However, ticket pre-sales coming on sale a month before release (March 25) are not unlikely.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hauled in an interstellar $100 million in US advance sales, quadrupling early ticket takings of the Dark Knight Rises (2012).
Leo later tweeted that the snap was taken at his local cinema, Cinetopia Progress Ridge 14, at 8pm EST. Unfortunately, information on the cinema's website does not confirm nor deny this claim. But there's still a sliver of hope.

Do you reckon the pre-sale date is real?
