Ah, Steam. Steamy Steamy, old boy, you are something. Truly something. Thou givest great games and thou takest away my money. All of my god damn money...well, this was an unusual way to start an article. STEAM.

It's February, people. In this cold Winter month gamers everywhere are looking to find the next title that'll keep them engaged for hours on end. Whether it be the indie joys of The Witness, or the triple-A delights of [Rise of the Tomb Raider](tag:2777827), Steam always has you covered. But what were the best games of February and what promises will March bring? Let's take a look, shall we?

Best Games On Steam In February 2016

XCOM 2 - Game of the Year? It's possible. This strategy masterpiece is everything we love about PC games. Firaxis have taken all that they learned with Enemy Unknown and surpassed it in every conceivable way. It is pure perfection and I'll be playing this for years.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 - With all of [Street Fighter V](tag:2764783)'s controversy, you might forget that another fighting game came out around the same time. [Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4](tag:3755113) is an absolute blast, boasting fantastic graphics, great gameplay and tons of content.

Firewatch - What a remarkable surprise. Firewatch is an emotional and taught experience. The game deeply explores isolation and loss, while allowing players to indulge in beautiful music, great visuals and some of the industry's best voice acting. A must play.

Layers of Fear - This is an unsettling experience. PC games are famous for wonderful horror games, and Layers of Fear may soon join the ranks with the best of the best. It has tons of jump scares, a twisted sense of reality and a great pay off. A great horror for February.

Plague Inc: Evolved - Want to create a plague, evolve it and sit back and watch humanity die at your own evil hands? Then Plague Inc. Evolved is for you! This strategy game is not too dissimilar from the mobile game before it, but it can be a rewarding challenge and a lot of fun. Watch out for Greenland!

The Solus Project - This game is currently in early access, but has already been compared with [Fallout 4](tag:2683460). This is a first-person single-player survival game in which, with Earth on the brink of destruction, as mankind's last hope, and stranded on a deserted alien planet, the player has to survive the harsh environment and find a way to send a signal back home.

What You Got For Us, March?

Bless you.
Bless you.

Far Cry Primal - Far Cry Primal will arrive a few days after consoles on March 1st, and judging by the review scores we've seen so far, this could be a bit of harmless fun! "[Far Cry Primal](tag:3613923) stays true to its callous setting, fleshing out every layer of the captivating world it creates." - Gamespot

Tom Clancy's The Division - Ubisoft just held an open beta for [Tom Clancy's The Division](tag:2684169), and I must say that I was surprised. This online RPG has the potential to succeed and we're wondering whether it could surpass the accomplishments of [Destiny](tag:3598513). I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Hitman - I'm hoping this is one of the best games of the year. As a long time fan of the Hitman franchise, [Hitman (2016)](tag:3677378) is a promising idea. Square Enix will release episodes of the game throughout the year and each map will give us tons of NPCs to navigate through and eventually tag as targets of our own.

EVE: Valkyrie - EVE: Valkyrie is an upcoming multiplayer dogfighting shooter game set in the Eve Online universe that is designed to use virtual reality headset technology. This is it, people! VR is close at hand.
