The last words of 2008's home invasion horror The Strangers may be "it'll be easier next time," but things just aren't turning out that way for The Strangers 2.

Producer Roy Lee recently told Collider that Relativity Media's cash flow could be tricky if we wanna see more Pin-Up Girl et al:

“We have a script that’s fantastic but they’ve had some financial difficulties so it’s unclear as to whether or not they’ll be able to finance the movie.”

Uh-oh. We need more of this!

The Strangers 2 is one of the most exciting big horror releases coming in 2016 so let's hope the project gets back on track. We've even got an official plot synopsis that sounds pretty cool (and weirdly apt to the studio's own money woes):

“Strangers 2 is a thrilling sequel that lives up to the hype of the original film. After financial troubles force them to move out of their house, a family of four try to make it through the night in a deserted trailer park while being hunted by the savage, ax-wielding, mask-wearing trio wrecking havoc once again.”

What would you like to see happen in 'The Strangers 2'?
