Ever since the first X-Men movie in 2000, fans of Marvel movies have kept a keen eye out for that expected and highly anticipated Stan Lee cameo. If you were part of the throng that's been to see Deadpool since its opening, you'll know that Mr. Lee's latest bit part was hard to miss.

Although Lee has been very vocal about his love of this running joke, his Deadpool scene had one major downfall.

When talking to Entertainment Weekly at The Big Bang Theory’s 200th episode celebration, he revealed his only regret after leaving the Deadpool set was that he wasn't allowed ample time in the strip club where Vanessa worked:

“I wish I had spent more time in the strip club. They had me in and out too quickly.”

That's the price you pay for being a seasoned actor and nailing the scene on the first take.

Luckily, that's not going to stop Stan Lee from appearing in any future Marvel movies. Not for his own benefit, of course, but for the benefit of the movies. Lee went on to explain how the commercial success of Marvel movies has a direct correlation to his appearances:

“If it’s a Marvel movie, I’m there for it. Whenever a new movie comes out, I hope they’ll have a spot for me. I get such a kick out of doing it. The fans seem to like it. I’m going to tell you a secret, here’s the reason the movies make so much money: My cameo. A man takes a girl to the movie, right? They’re watching the movie and they bend down to get some popcorn. In so doing, they miss my cameo. Now the movie ends, and they say, ‘My God, we missed Stan’s cameo!’ So what do they do? They run to the box office and buy two more tickets and see it again. That’s why the movies do so well, because of my cameos.”

He makes a good point. As long as Marvel movies keep including these cameos, they're guaranteed to be a hit. Now all Lee needs to do is leverage that fact for the Deadpool sequel, to ensure he gets more time in that strip club.

What's your favorite Stan Lee cameo in a Marvel movie?
