It’s a game series that has broken new ground with every daring adventure it’s embarked upon but after inspecting the brand new Story Trailer of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, it’s safe to say that the folks at Naughty Dog have outdone themselves, yet again. If this really is the final chapter to close Drake’s Diary on, then there’s really only one thing to say - what a way to go.

Reuniting with Nathan Drake, Uncharted sees our globe-trotting rogue settled down with his true love, Elena giving things a rest. That all grinds to a halt however when Nate’s older (and thought-to-be dead) brother, Sam rocks up at the Drake residence some assistance. Reluctantly Nathan joins Sam in rolling out the maps in order to find the lost city of Libertalia, a forgotten pirate colony that could hold the greatest treasure in history.

Of course things aren’t so easy (are they ever with Nate’s sought after trinkets?), as our hero is forced to run, jump, climb and career into various obstacles at full force. Dr. Jones, eat your flippin’ heart out.

Considering some of the footage on display, it’s a wonder PlayStation 4’s won’t burst into flame at the mere attempt of trying to play what looks to be another stunning entry to the Uncharted series. I mean, honestly just look at this.

No stranger to incredible set-pieces (a derailed train here, a fight on a open cargo plane there), Drake’s next escapade looks to be an eye-watering one and I for one can’t wait to dive right in. You can too when Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End arrives April 24. What are you thinking though? Are you worried Uncharted is going to tread over the same old territory, or is this a must have on your video-game shelf? Sound off in the comments below.
