Although it's not always the case, I tend to find that the better the theme tune the likelier we are to enjoy the show - because half the fun of watching TV is belting along to a good old intro, right?

The below 10 shows all have mega catchy credit tracks - so much so, they'll crawl into your little ear holes and stay there forever.

So, in no particular order, here are some of the best (although yes, sometimes annoying) TV theme songs:

1. 'Friends'

You've heard it twenty million times but does that stop you breaking into The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There for You” every single time those peachy pals appear on screen? No, didn't think so.

2. The Simpsons

The first of many on this list that prove a theme doesn't need to have lyrics to be catchy AF.

3. The Addams Family

The Addams Family started when Uncle Fester farted, he farted through the keyhole and paralyzed the cat! The cat got dead excited and shouted Man United and Man United shouted The Addams Family!

Any theme tune that lends itself perfectly to childish adaptations gets a thumbs up in my book.

4. Cheers

Could the lyrics to Cheers be any more welcoming? At this bar everyone knows your name and are always super excited to see you! The fact that is rarely reflected in the show is irrelevant.

5. Gilmore Girls

Yes, you beautiful humans, I will follow you, even though you rarely go anywhere.

6. South Park

You'll certainly have yourself a more interesting time if you know what Kenny's mumbling about the next time you head on down to South Park.

7. The X-Files

This fabulous piece of music lends itself perfectly to a wide-eyed stare, whistle and wiggle.

8. Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Where was he raised? All together now...

9. Full House

Everywhere you look, there's a <3 - especially now Fuller House has just hit Netflix!

10. Game of Thrones

Dun dun da da dun dun da da dun dun da da dun dun dun... SO. GOOD.

What's your favorite TV theme tune?
