One of the most memorable characters from the original Ghostbusters movie has long been rumored to be making a comeback in the reboot. And now we know for sure that the beloved gluttonous green ghoul will return!
I'm talking, of course, about Slimer, who will hopefully be just as ravenous in his 21st century debut. Actor Michael K. Williams, who will play an FBI agent in the movie, spilled the beans about Slimer's return on Entertainment Weekly Radio.
Williams admitted that he loved working with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon in the new film (and presumably Leslie Jones as well), but the real scene-stealer was none other than Slimer:
"I’m not going to lie, working with Melissa and Kristen and Kate was really dope, but — I got to work with Slimer, dude. Like, Slimer! I’m in a scene with Slimer! I’m a huge 'Ghostbusters' fan and it was a dream come true."
It seems that director Paul Feig is sticking to at least some of the roots that made the original Ghostbusters so great, which certainly bodes well for the all-female version, coming soon.
Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15.
