I AM A MESS! A MESS, you hear me?! Just as we were beginning to even think about getting over the end of the Hunger Games films (I emphasize beginning, I'm still not over it), they have to go and yank our feels right out of our hearts again, opening old wounds and pouring salt right on in. I mean, I still cry over watching the end of Mockingjay Part 2 at least once a day. In anticipation of the The Hunger Games: The Four Film Collection release on Digital HD March 8th, and DVD/Blu-Ray March 22nd, Lionsgate via Popsugar released a NEVER BEFORE SEEN deleted scene from the first Hunger Games film, and it's left our hearts shattered all over again.

We finally get to see the boy with the bread scene addressed, and the significance it holds in Katniss and Peeta's relationship throughout the three books and four films. In the Hunger Games film, we do get to see a flashback of the beloved bread scene as it plays out in Katniss's head, but it pretty much is disregarded after that. However, in the books, the scene is referenced and mentioned repeatedly as the moment Katniss truly fell in love with Peeta, without knowing it, and a shining example of Peeta's character and integrity.

While I LOVE how all four of the films were done, and understand that not every moment can be adapted from book to film, this new deleted scene is one, or at least one like it, I could have really used in the final cut. It helps explain in more detail the significance of the bread, and helps audiences have a more clear understanding of how deep Peeta and Katniss' relationship runs. Basically, I'm going to watch this clip forever and ever and cry. That's normal, right? See the clip for yourself below.

Katniss admitting she remembers, and in her own way, thanking him, and Peeta basically telling her he'd do it all over again, because he loves her, and they aren't like the Capitol. They are human, and to recognize human suffering and need to help end it IS what makes them the way they are.

I feel so conflicted now that I've seen the scene, knowing it could have been but wasn't! I can only imagine what else is in store for the Mockingjay Part 2 and The Hunger Games: The Four Film Collection as far as unseen material goes, but I do know my emotions won't be able to deal!

The Hunger Games: The Four Film Collection and Mockingjay Part 2 Blu-Ray/DVD are available on Digital HD March 8th, and Blu-Ray/DVD March 22nd 2016!

Do you think this deleted Peeta/Katniss scene should have been included in the final cut of 'The Hunger Games'?
