As time passes you come to realize that Hollywood is a constant game of six degrees. Everyone, everywhere in the industry is connected to someone via a role in a movie; you just have to dig a little to find where and when that happened.

Let's take a look at our five recent female winners in Academy History and see how they have coincided in films. Some movies we will have to watch again in order to remember the power these women had even before they received their first nomination.

Julianne Moore and Jennifer Lawrence

Starred together: The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 (2014 & 2015)

Julianne Moore won the 87th Academy Award on the ceremony of 2015 for her role in the film Still Alice. Jennifer Lawrence won the 85th Academy Award in the ceremony of 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook.

Winner of the 87th Academy Award for Best Actress, Julianne Moore career has seen her playing many roles, and two of these roles have been hand in hand with fellow winners. The most recent is her role as President Alma Coin during the last two installments of The Hunger Games.

Julianne Moore and Meryl Streep

Starred together: The Hours (2002)

Julianne Moore 87th Academy Award Winner for Still Alice

Meryl Streep 84th Academy Award for The Iron Lady

Julianne has also crossed paths with fellow winner Meryl Streep; they starred in The Hours. The 2002 drama is one of the few films where everyone is an Academy Award winner, even when at the time of its distribution, the only one that could hold the "winner" title was the great Meryl Streep.

The Hours made Nicole Kidman a winner in the 2003 Academy Awards Ceremony.

Julianne Moore and Cate Blanchet

Starred together: An Ideal Husband (1999)

Julianne Moore 87th Academy Award Winner for Still Alice

Cate Blanchet 86th Academy Award Winner for Blue Jasmine

Julianne had another role in which she shared credits with Cate Blanchet. The 1999 comedy, An Ideal Husband has both winning ladies acting in a comedic romantic film. Who would've guessed that they both would be holding Ooscar statues in less than fifteen years?

Cate Blanche and Natalie Portman

Starring together: Weightless (2016)

Cate Blanchet, 86th Academy Award Winner for Blue Jasmine

Natalie Portman, 83rd Academy Award Winner for Black Swan

Cate Blanchet is the final straw that joins all of our leading ladies together. While Julianne is certainly the one that shares credits with most of the other recent winners, it is thanks to Cate that we can link Natalie Portman to the six degrees game.

Their film together is scheduled to hit theaters this 2016. I am sure it will be a thrill to watch. Weightless comes not only with two female winners of the Academy Award but with household names like Christian Bale and Benecio Del Toro.

What do you think? Would you like to find more films were Academy Award Winners starred together? I bet we could link them all in less than six roles!
