Wolverine 3 is a little over a year away, and we still know next to nothing about what Hugh Jackman's final bout as the gruff X-Man will entail. For starters, Fox is circling an R rating and director James Mangold has admitted to looking at comic book storylines for inspiration, specifically the popular Old Man Logan arc.
With so much still up in the air, any tidbits around the movie are more than welcome, and luckily actor Liev Schreiber (who played Victor Creed/Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is here to offer some more speculation.
Liev Admits That He And Hugh Have Discussed 'Wolverine 3'
On the Oscars red carpet, MTV News spoke to him about the likelihood that Sabretooth will appear in the next movie, and Liev admitted that he has some interest in the Old Man Logan storyline:
"[Hugh and I] talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The 'Old Man Logan' story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.”
In an earlier interview, Liev again spoke about how an "Old Man Sabretooth" could fit nicely within that future universe:
"I heard that the storyline is 'Old Man Logan.' And when I heard that, I thought, 'Well, you know there’s Old Man Logan, there could be Old Man Sabretooth — the two of us with walkers."
Sabretooth does appear in the Old Man Logan story, so depending on how faithfully Fox chooses to adapt it, it's totally possible that we'll be seeing more of Liev in this next film.
