While Disney has been steadily answering our request to see our favorite characters come to life on screen, there are still several fan favorites that would shine in a live-action version. One of my personal favorites is Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and I think everyone can agree that it would be incredible to see a realistic version of the lost city of Atlantis be created on screen! Check out my choices for the cast below:

Kida - Zendaya Coleman

Not only does she look the part, but Zendaya has plenty of acting experience already. She also happens to be a strong female role model for young girls, using her celebrity influence to tackle real life issues, making her an excellent choice to portray Kida in a live-action Disney movie.

Milo - Chris Wood

Chris Wood definitely has what it takes to attract a fanbase. He was the primary villain in season six of The Vampire Diaries, playing a depraved siphon, but that didn't stop him from becoming a fan favorite. He has the charm, and acting range to take on the role of the lovable Milo with ease.

Helga - Katee Sackhoff

Katee is no stranger to playing a badass female role, with films like Riddick, The Last Sentinel, and Battlestar Galactica: Razor under her belt. On top of that, her appearance and build is similar to Helga, and she clearly looks convincing with a gun.

Dr. Sweet - Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

Dr. Sweet may come off as intimidating at first due to his large physique, but we quickly discover that he is actually incredibly kind. Adewale is capable of portraying both sides of the character, and he has the size and physical ability along with a calming nature.

Vinny - Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody can tackle any film effortlessly, but his appearance really makes him a shoo-in for the role of Vinny. With almost identical features, and his ability to transform himself into various characters, Brody could easily showcase the bravery of the demolition expert.

Ramirez - Stephanie Beatriz

Playing a tough, but lovable tomboy won't be a hard task for Beatriz. She already plays a similar role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and nails it! It doesn't hurt that she looks remarkably like Ramirez, right down to the glare!

Mrs. Packard - Marietta Marich

Mrs. Packard brings little to the table in Atlantis, but if Marietta Marich were involved in a live-action version, her character would certainly stand out. When I thought of who could play Mrs. Packard, my first thought was Luda Mae from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - minus the depraved personality. I have to say, my first instinct was right, she would be perfect!

Commander Rourke - Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin has the physical characteristics needed to play Rourke, and is capable of radiating authority and demanding respect, all while seeming a little untrustworthy. With his distinguished appearance, and strong personality traits, Josh could easily transform into Commander Rourke.

Mole - Josh Gad

Anyone who has seen Atlantis knows, Mole is weird! He is a funny character, but he could easily be taken the wrong way if he isn't cast well. Since he needs to be played by someone who can make it playful, instead of creepy, Josh Gad is the man for the job. Think of it this way, Olaf isn't a cherished character in Frozen based only on his looks!

Bottom line: Regardless of the cast, a live-action Atlantis needs to happen!
