“If you’re a comic book fan, you know that I didn’t change Superman." - Zack Snyder, 2016.
Zack isn't wrong. He didn't change Superman. With all the different carnations and irritations it's nearly impossible to say he did. Did he re-imagine the character? Of course. Is he close to the original? Not really. But is he recognizable? No Snyder, Sherlock. But is he a jerk? Um....
This is just a short and sweet article taking a look at Zack Snyder's Superman. One that appears in Man of Steel and newly Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Now, you can argue. His words speak louder than his actions, he has good intentions. Like most fans do. But let's be serious, actions are all that matter here. He can say he's in love with you, but still cheat on you. Now, I have no problem with MoS or DoJ as of now. So why make this article? Because I'm tired of blind fanboys. Not let's get to the list of crappy things, Clark/Superman has done (so far).
- Superman Destroys a Truck, While also Damaging it's Cargo.
- He let his "father" "die."
- Superman Charges Batman Through a (Hopefully) Vacant Building. ON PURPOSE!! Causing Property Damage in the Thousands (Due to the Batsignal Being Damaged Alone)!!
Also, he just threw a human...
- Superman Hovers and Thinks. Before Rescuing and Saving.
- Superman Hates Your Car. Along with Prying your Door Open. He Loves To Rip Them Off.
Superman is mean and brooding. He's also a Jerk and this movie isn't even out yet. So who knows, it may be worse. The way I see it, this Justice League doesn't seem to be the kind that's too afraid to stage a coup d'état and take over the world as a single governing body of gods. And don't give me that in the comics crap. This isn't the comics. This is a Zack Snyder film and he can do what ever he damn so please. Your logic nor mine applies here. This Justice League is no different from the one in the Injustice Video Game and Comics. Plus, they can't even save a city block.
Bring on all of your arguments. If you've made it this far, you probably read all I needed to say. Too bad I want read what you have to say. Either way, Superman is only as much as a jerk as he is in the comics. And people that really get rustled by this type of thing and need to feel some type of defensive are, for the most part, a blind fanboy.
Also, let's be serious. Don't give me that "He's not Superman Yet." Because you obviously haven't seen Deadpool. Now if what *spoiler* said rings true. There are only four to five moments where you need to be a hero. And Clark missed Ten of them. Learning curve or not, he's wearing the "S" now. It doesn't matter if this is year one, because Henry Cavil isn't going to be thirty for much longer. And Justice League shouldn't consist of noobs. But hey, what are you going to do.
Do you think Superman is Somewhat a Jerk?
Thank you for Reading. Want REAL heroes. Go watch A Marvel Movie.
Can't help but feel as if I'm missing something... Oh, right.
If there's anything I've possibly missed. Please feel free to share in the comments. I mean moments of Superman being a jerk of course.
