After a short, but extremely enjoyable, first season of AMC's Walking Dead companion series Fear the Walking Dead last year, we've finally landed ourselves a teaser trailer for the second season of the show, which will air in April.
When we left our survivors at the end of Season 1, they were holed up at the ocean-side mansion of the mysterious Strand, preparing to go aboard his yacht, Abigail. Sadly despite the majority of the group making it, they lost a couple of members along the way, with Griselda first dying of sepsis and Liza being bitten and then shot by Travis.
So, how does the situation look for the group in Season 2? Take a look:
WOW! That may have only been 30 seconds long, but it is action packed!
Firstly, we have some creepy images of walkers on sand and Daniel Salazar firing a rifle:
Over the top of the whole clip is a frankly quite spooky voice over from Madison:
"To kill the monster, you become the monster. Stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back. It is alive, it is hungry, and it devours you."
The promo then goes into scenes aboard Abigail looking out to sea, including a quick flash of what looks like a boat packed with walkers:
I guess things aren't any safer on the seas than they are on land.
We're also shown footage with characters in a inflatable dingy fighting off something trying to climb aboard (but is it other survivors, or the walking/swimming dead?).
We see Christopher saying goodbye to his mother, Liza:
We also see walkers invading the land (including what looks to be Strand's mansion)
And finally, we're left looking at some trouble on the high seas — can anyone else identify the guy with the rifle, or could he possibly be trying to hijack Abigail and take it for himself?
The teasers ends with a few worrying flashes of footage, including a female body lying limp, Madison rushing onto land laden with bags, and Travis striking down with some sort of weapon:
I don't know about you, but that was all pretty exhausting to watch!
With the second season set to premiere on April 10th, there's no doubt that more teaser trailers will be coming soon. At the moment not a great deal is known about Season 2, other than that it will be comprised of 15 episodes. The season will also be split in half, with seven episodes airing over April and May, and the remaining episodes airing later in the year — much like how The Walking Dead operates with its mid-season finales and hiatuses.
'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 2 will premiere on AMC on April, 10th.
