Every actor has there own quirks. I'm talking about those certain little things that make them unique or stand out in their roles. While that is true, even in their uniqueness, there are other actors and actresses that are so similar they could definitely play each others roles. I don't mean this in the sense of fan casting, but that there are certain actors who could play the roles of others because of a certain "something" these actors both possess or have the same of. So, here are a few who I think that applies to.
1. Will Smith and Jamie Foxx
These men are both, very talented, funny, and have a certain sense of maturity to their comedy. They are funny and can be silly and clown around just as much as they can be serious and heartfelt. They both have already played comicbook characters (Jamie Foxx as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Will Smith will be Deadshot in the upcoming movie Suicide Squad). They both can play dramatic and heartfelt roles as Jamie Foxx in Ray and Will Smith in Seven Pounds. They both carried their own series Jamie Foxx with The Jamie Foxx Show and Will Smith The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air which were both really loved and funny shows. They both came to fame on their own, before any big role came and they both made music.
2. Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp
These are two men who have an unbelievable amount of talent and are able to go the distance for a role. They have an ability to play many dynamic and refreshing leading characters that most couldn't carry out too well, in my opinion at least. Johnny Depp has become some really bizarre and great leading characters such as Edwards Scissorhands, Captain Jack Sparrow (the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise), The Mad Hatter (Alice In Wonderland), and John Dillinger (Public Enemies); and Leonardo in a like manner can play a really intriguing and important leading character like Jay Gatsby, Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Catch Me if You Can), and Hugh Glass (The Revenant).
There are no limits to these two men's abilities in acting. They take on their characters like no other and sadly, for a long time they haven't got the well deserved recognition, until this year for the Oscars. Leonardo finally received an Oscar for his performance in The Revenant. After so many years of great performances, he finally received his Oscar. Now, we can only wait for Johnny Depp's time to come. However, whether he wins one or not, we, the fans, know how amazing he is.
3. Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg
There honestly hasn't been a role that I've seen either of these two play in that the other couldn't play. Most of the films they are in are action-packed and deal with government, the military, or the law in general. They have mostly played leading roles as well. They are really great friends and started in the business around the same time, as well as they are both from Massachusetts.
Mark has been more involved with comedic roles such as in, Ted and The Other Guys, but don't forget how hilarious Matt is and the great sense of humor he has, as we all got to see in The Ocean's movies and most recently, The Martian.
4. Tom Hiddleston and Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch
I absolutely love these three men, and I know I am not the only one. They all have undeceiving charm, integrity, and brilliance. Individually, they are outstanding and they really make a movie worth watching. There is no need to ever question whether or not they can lead a movie or really bring to life a character.
They all are well acquainted with each other and have played in at least one film together, excluding Hiddleston and Fassbender. They each have played villains just as they have played good guys before. Now maybe its because of the characters themselves or because of their acting abilities or just because it's them, but many fans actually like the villainous characters or at least respected them- beside Fassbender in 12 Years A Slave, he's forever hated. Whether they're a good guy, a bad guy, a person of history, or a comic-book character, they are amazing.
5. Milla Jovovichh and Kate Beckinsale and Angelina Jolie
These three ladies are such versatile actresses. They have been action heroes, villains, love-interests, and the victims. Just looking at them you would be fooled, because they are very beautiful woman and many beautiful actresses are praised for beautify and style mostly, however there is so much more to them then just being "beautiful actresses". They can basically play any role and they defy the odds of what women can do in film or what characters women are only capable of taking on. They are bold, beautiful, daring, and capable women who bring that force in their acting. They're in their very own category, that they basically created.
6. Angela Bassett and Viola Davis
These are two very mature, female, African-American actresses. They handle roles in the same manner. They have dignity, strength, and a strong presence that outside of acting they bring forth, as well as in the roles they take on. They are classic and loved by everyone. They choose there roles with great care and consideration, they won't just take any role, but the ones they do take are ones they are passionate about and that mean something to them.
7. Garrett Hedlund and Taylor Kitsch
Some young actors come on the scene with their good looks and they are mostly pin-pointed on just their good looks but never for their talent, or they may not even really have the talent. These two obviously are heartthrob material, but they are so much more then just great faces. These two have serious talent and they really have great stories to tell of there lives, because they possess a certain maturity and they have really worked hard to make it as far as they have now, and they still are working. They aren't really even that young and they have been active in films/TV shows for quite a bit of time actually, but they aren't as widely known as most actors there age or even younger, sadly. They deserve more recognition and roles, because they are serious about there work and they are great at it.
