What is known of Disney or "Uncle Walt" is that he periodically used words offensive to other racial and ethnic groups in casual conversation and there is the fact that in 1938, a month after Kristallnacht ( The name Kristallnacht comes from the shards of broken glass that littered the streets after Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues had their windows smashed ), Disney personally welcomed Nazi director Leni Riefenstahl to his studios. and persons of African descent did not find work at the Disney studio until the 1950s. As the output of every Hollywood studio of the time will show (Disney's included of course) racially offensive humor was fairly common....

Also these accusations stem primarily from the use of racial stereotypes in Disney movies from the 40s: Dumbo's black crows; Fantasia's black servant centaurette; and Song of the South, a movie so offensive that the Disney company will no longer let it be seen in public. Then there is Walt Disney's own behavior: His Biographer Neal Gabler cites a meeting in which Disney referred to the Snow White dwarves as a "ni**er pile" and another in which he used the term "pickaninny.". Disney anticipated the Song of the South controversy and attempted to make it less racist with a rewrite and meeting with the NAACP. The meeting never happened, and the movie was released anyway. There was also some controversy about Walt's unwillingness to hire minorities at Disneyland....those are certainly not flattering facts..,however they are facts....

'If you are going to have mixed feelings about a family member (and we all do) take it from me, you really need to be as honest as possible about those feelings, or else you are going to lead yourself into many a blind alley in life!!...Anti-Semite? Check. Misogynist? OF COURSE!! Racist? C'mon he made a film (Jungle Book) about how you should stay 'with your own kind' at the height of the fight over segregation! As if the 'King of the Jungle' number wasn't proof enough!! How much more information do you need?....But damn, he was hella good at making films and his work has made billions of people happy. There's no denying it. So there ya go. Mixed feelings up the wazoo."' - Abigail Disney (Grand Niece)

I would like to note that this post wasnt easy for me, As I am a huge fan of the Disney "Company" (Like Most People) But the truth is never easy to digest nor to share and discuss...But I do not believe in the brazen attempt by the company to make a saint out of the man....Thank You for reading my post....
