Some of the biggest names in superheroes are going head to head this summer, with [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) at least one month away, and [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) arriving on May 6th. Both movies put the main heroes (Batman and Superman, Captain America and Iron Man) against each other.
But who will be the real winner? Well I'm going to show you the good and bad things of both movies- I hope I'm not too biased.
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
Now, when I first heard of this movie I was a little worried I guess. As a Marvel fan I didn't want to think that a DC movie could be better than a Marvel movie (what childish thoughts, am I right?) and when the SDCC trailer came out, my mind was blown. I didn't want to admit it, but it looked really good. But then the second trailer came out... and my hype went down. I personally wasn't that excited for it. I think they gave too much away. And now I know what you DC fans our thinking, "Zack Snyder said it didn't give anything away you dummy head!!" I know he said that, but a. can we really take his word for it? and b. If it didn't give anything away, why did they take out the whole Doomsday part in the final trailer? Speaking of the final trailer, it was AWESOME. It looked great, Batman looked sweet with his moves. But now let's look at the possible good and bad things for this movie
Well, the good thing here is that its freaking BATMAN AND SUPERMAN. It looks super intense, and I think, if anything, that Batfleck will be great. Maybe save the movie? I don't know. But the fights look intense, the whole Justice League is gonna be in it... wow. Wonder Woman looks cool, and I even think Jessie Eisenberg will do a good job. I guess what I'm saying is, there is a lot going for this movie, and I hope it doesn't let fans down.
While this movie looks good, there are many things that question the quality of the film. For example, the director. Personally, I do not like Zack Snyder as a director. I didn't like Man of Steel and I question his direction for movies. Even in Screen Rants Epic Movie Trailers for Disappointing Movies, Zack Snyder is mentioned a couple times, with them saying "It's not a coincidence that Zack Snyder appears on this list more than once. It seems that telling cinematic stories in the span of a trailer works out much better than him than sustaining a full length movie." Does this mean the movie will be bad? No, of course not. But if it does, we may know why.
The other bad thing is that there are A LOT of characters. The same thing goes for Civil War, and they could both suffer from it. Batman V Superman has the entire Justice League, and Lex Luthor (maybe in power armor?) and Doomsday. Who knows if they will be even out with screen time, but we do know that the Flash, Green Lantern, and Cyborg won't. They will not get a lot, according to Zack Snyder. It's just a nod to know they exist.
Finally, how much fighting will we actually see of Batman and Superman? To be honest, I think there might only be one fight scene. And that's when Batman has his mech armor. But it may be a really long, cool fight scene. Who knows? We'll have to see on March 25th.
Captain America: Civil War
Now Marvel's big move is Captain America: Civil War. It is coming out on May 6th. They movie features literally every single Marvel characters, and even new ones, like Black Panther and Spiderman. The first trailer was EPIC, it looks dark and at the same time not over the top dark. The Superbowl trailer was short but sweet. I am very excited for this movie! So let's look at the good and bad.
The good is we finally get to see the arguments that Tony and Steve had finally erupt into a full on war. Sure it isn't as many characters of the original Marvel Civil War, but it makes up with all the MCU characters. We get to see an awesome new Black Panther, and we even get SPIDERMAN, who, sadly, has not made an appearance
Obviously the over abundance of character can spell bad news for this movie. Yet it is called a Civil War, while Batman V Superman is called, well, Batman V Superman, not Batman V Superman, with Wonder Woman, vs. Lex Luthor and Doomsday, along with the Justice League. But I guess this is a test for the Russo Brothers, because they will direct the next two part Avengers movie. There are a lot of villains too, such as Crossbones, Baron Zemo, and Karpov. The other bad thing is the whole Sokovia Accords thing. People are thinking Bucky starts up the Accords and the Civil War, and that would be a little disappointing, but I really don't think that's the reason. The other thing is Spiderman. Spiderman is supposed to play a significant role, but that could not be true. If its just a glorified cameo, I will be SO UPSET. But there has only been a trailer and a short tv spot, so there isn't as much to go off of, but as more trailers come out, we can have a better look at the goods and bads.
