A flashback shows Kara being awakened by a large ship with a Brainiac symbol on it colliding with Fort Rozz. In the present Kara continues to distance herself from the J'onn, her sister and the DEO. After unsuccessfully trying to get Kara to work with them again, Alex tells J'onn that she can no longer lie to Kara. Cat holds a meeting in her office when Siobhan hands her an envelope containing a flash drive and note. The note points to a website where men have affairs so Cat has them all look into it. Siobhan seems to be more affected by it than the rest for some reason. A blonde woman appears on all the TV screens at Catco warning Cat that since she did not take the note seriously, the city would now suffer. The woman somehow gets all the traffic lights in town to turn green causing multiple accidents. Kara leaves and saves a family from colliding with an eighteen wheeler. The next day the news reports that National City had suffered the worst digital breach and that the threat is still very much alive. Back at Kara's apartment Winn figures out that whoever is being the hacking is someone very smart, but has found a way to track her. The blonde shows up on his computer and literally comes out of it to confront the team. She calls herself Indigo and reveals that she knows Kara's secret before attacking them. J'onn and Alex arrive just in time to save them. J'onn asks Kara to put aside their differences to stop this new menace, but she declines. Indigo meets with Non and tells him that Apokolips is coming, saying that she and the Kryptonians will be the only ones who will survive. Seeing that there is something bothering Siobhan Winn tries to talk to her to see what is wrong. She tells him about her father and how she caught him having an affair with someone when she was young and seeing it being talked on the news struck a cord in her. Alex recruits Winn to help them find Indigo since Kara refuses to help them with the matter. Frustrated that she can not find answers on her own and now that Winn has been taken to work with the DEO, Jimmy tells her to go to the Fortress of Solitude. They find Kellex there and it tells them about Indigo's origins. It also tells them that she is the dangerous criminal out of Fort Rozz and that they should hurry to stop it. After seeing Jimmy and Lucy fighting, Kara tries to help their situation. She reveals a story to Lucy about Jimmy that he never mentioned to her before, making Lucy think about their relationship. Lucy, Jimmy and Kara find out that Indigo is looking to bomb the city, so Kara rushes to confront her. back at the DEO, Winn rushes to learn Kyrptonian code so that they can get an idea of what Indigo is planning. Indigo arrives at the military site holding the missiles and easily takes out all the soldiers there. She commences the launch sequence when Kara shows up. They fight each other with Indigo gaining the upper hand. The missile launches and heads straight towards National City. Kara is able to break free and is able to stop the missile with J'onn's guidance. Kara goes back to the bunker and confronts Indigo once again. She uses her ability to travel through communication lines and attacks Winn back at the DEO, nearly choking him to death. However, Winn is able to destroy her with a virus he had created. The news tries to dismiss the missle attack, saying that it was just some sort of light in the sky, but Cat realizes what really happened. Kara finally gives Jimmy permission to tell Lucy she is Supergirl, but before he can do so Lucy breaks up with him. Kara goes to the DEO and decides to put her personal feeling aside so that they can resume their work together. Alex takes the chance to finally confess to Kara that she killed Astra, with J'onn taking the blame to save their relationship. She forgives Alex and mends her relationship with J'onn. Non is seen back at his lair using an orb to bring back pieces of Indigo which he plans to use.
More drama, even more action. This episode had a great balance of them both. As long as they keep it up with that, they are heading in the right direction. Check out these notable scenes.
Indigo: A living computer formerly known as Brainiac 8 sentenced to Fort Rozz for turning against the people of Krypton, but now unstoppable on Earth. A unique inorganic being, Indigo possesses an analytical computer mind, can travel through via the internet or phone line, has super strength, durability and malleability. Seeing Laura Vandervoort play such a badass villain was awesome. She totally owned the role and hopefully this isn't the last we see of her.
Team Supergirl- Ever since Astra's death Kara has been pretty distant from everyone. This episode, everyone tries to get her to put aside her differences with J'onn so that they can stop Indigo, but she waited a little too long. Looks like everything is all good towards the end though and hopefully we can finally see them operating together. The DEO even brought Winn in to help them out with understanding Kryptonian code and was actually the one who borught Inigo down himself.
Kara and Alex- We guess that donuts at the beginning were there just to put Kara in a happy place before she told the truth. Then she got her chance to and it was heartbreaking. At first we thought Kara was going to shut her sister like she did to J'onn, but instead we get a much more heartfelt moment.
Kara and J'onn- For most of the episode she gave him the cold shoulder. He asks for her to help them out and she said no. It took the city being on the brink of being destroyed for her to even consider working with him again. It all worked out in the end though and they are back to being super friends.
Kara,Alex and J'onn- We about had enough with the hostility she had against J'onn the last few episodes. We we're waiting for the confession and we got it. There was no holding back the tears in that scene. She forgave Alex and understood why J'onn covered for her.Time for Supergirl, Alex and Martian Manhunter to kick ass with each other.
Kara and Winn- It has pretty much been just the two of them really getting things down on the team side of things. She said it didn't bother her when Alex came to recruit him for help at the DEO but she was pretty upset.
Kara and Jimmy- So apparently she's been invited plenty of times to go the Fortress of Solitude by Clark, but she's made an excuse to go every time. Only when Jimmy Olsen says to go she goes. It also looks like they might have their chance at romance now that Jimmy is single again.
Kara and Lucy- What started out as a friendly girl chat turned into the most awkward scene of the episode. Lucy found out that Jimmy told Kara about his father when he never said anything about him to her. We wonder how things will play out between the two in the coming episodes.
Kara and Siobhan- The rivalry between these two is strong. When Kara said she wanted to throw into space to Winn we laughed out loud. Do it Kara. Just do it. Siobhan was a little off her game though and Kara came out at the top this time.
Kara and Cat- Looks like Kara is back to being Cat's number one again. At least there was no talking down on her this episode.
Alex and J'onn- J'onn is in the running for the best TV dad right up there with Joe West. He has kept a pretty cool head with all the heat he has taken for Alex's killing of Astra. Jeremy Danvers would have been happy to see someone take care of his daughters like he has.
Jimmy and Lucy- He managed to do everything thing wrong this episode and that cost him his relationship with Lucy. We will have to wait and see what the aftermath of their break up will bring. Most likely some bad times ahead for the gang.
Winn and Siobhan- That escalated really quick. After a brief talk about their daddy issues, she pounced on him, but not before she threatened to kill him if he said anything. We actually ship these two, but we known where her character is headed. Enjoy it while it lasts Winn!
Siobhan and Cat- So much for being the better assistant. Only a few episodes in and she's already gotten on Cat's bad side. We will see how long she will last.
Indigo and Non- Apparently these two had some sort of history. Not only is Non a psycho, but he's king of a freak too. He did kind of snap of Indigo when she disrespected Astra. We wonder what she could have been talking about with Apokolips coming. We're going to have to wait and find out some how.
Apokolips mention- The home world of DC characters such as Darkseid, Desaad, Granny Goodness and The Furies. We're going to have to see this all play out in the future in some way.
Fortress of Solitude Key- We know it is supposed to be insanely heavy and that only the strongest beings can lift it but man was it funny to see. It is made out of Dwarf Star material, the same thing Legends of Tomorrow Ray Palmer used to make his atom suit.
Legion Ring- We saw the Legion Ring in The Flash episode 'Welcome to Earth 2'. We finally got to see it in the flesh. The ring is known to give Superman or whoever wears it the ability to travel throughout time. Hopefully we will see it in use on this show.
Brainiac Orb-The Brainiac Orb was an orb containing all the information on Krypton. Superman rescued it from Brainiac's ship as it exploded. It provided Superman with valuable background information about his native planet, and Professor Hamilton managed to build a new Phantom Zone projector with the blueprints the orb contained. This could be what Non used to bring back parts of Indigo.
What's To Come/Theories:
We've got a nice little break before the show returns but from the information we've gathered it looks like we are about to get some action packed last few episodes. Non is seen bringing back parts of Indigo using a spherical object. Could he be using her mind to speed up project Myriad? Also she mentioned something about Apocalypse, so that could be poking at Darkseid and the New Gods. We will be seeing Kara introduced to Red Kryptonite and for those who have watched Smallville, it's always made everything a lot more interesting. Then we have the much awaited Flash and Supergirl crossover. The two are seen teaming up take down Silver Banshee, Livewire and hopefully some other baddies. It would definitely be cool to see Zoom somehow involved but chances of that happening are slim.
Supergirl's 'Solitude' was another solid entry to leave us at until the show comes back on March 14th. From the start with Twenty One Pilots playing we knew that it was going to be one hell of episode. It was action packed, had plenty of emotional scenes and pushed the show in the direction it needs to go. We rate this 9.6 Kryptos out of 10. What did you think about the episode? Leave it in the comments below, we'd love to read them!
