Former fighter on American Gladiators Lee Reherman has died at age 49 of undisclosed causes at his home in Manhattan Beach, California on Monday.

At the time of his death Reherman had been recovering from hip replacement surgery that took place two months ago.

Gladioators tweeted this commemoration:

After sparring with opponents as fighter Hawk on more than 100 episodes until the show's cancellation in 1996, 6'4" Reherman turned his brawn to acting, appearing in TV shows including The X-Files, Chuck and Gilmore Girls.

Reherman was also renowned for his TV hosting on Hot Rod TV and Forza Motorsport Showdown. His most recent on-screen roles were in Jane The Virgin and Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life.
