Is this latest trailer for Neverending Nightmares the creepiest thing ever to come to PS4?
Psychological horror Neverending Nightmares is making its way to the PS4 and PS Vita after its overwhelming success on the PC. The game will come to the console with a whole host of new and improved features, including an extended narrative, an upgraded engine and even promises to run at 60fps.
“We want gamers to experience all the content in the game, so we’ve made it easier to get to the branching points and have designed them to be a bit more obvious” - Creative director Matt Gilgenbach
Neverending Nightmares follows the inner torment of a man who wakes up from a nightmare and falls relentlessly into another. As the player progresses through the game, the nightmares become increasingly horrific. The deeper he falls the worse the experiences get - demons, ghosts and monsters lurk within each nightmare.
Death is not even an escape - if the player dies in a nightmare they are placed back within another - Neverending Nightmares blurs the lines between what is real and what is not. It is relentlessly horrifying.
Speaking out on Playstation Blog – game designer – Gilgenbach stated that,
"Neverending Nightmares is a very personal game for me because it’s meant to metaphorically express the experience I’ve had dealing with mental illness. It was a real challenge to develop a game to express those dark feelings, but my team and I have created a unique interactive experience.”
This spine chilling horror is set to haunt the PS4 and PS Vita in the second quarter of this year.
