We all know that the amount of hype for Suicide Squad has been enormous and even at times bigger than Batman vs Superman. A lot of it has to do with The Joker and Harley Quinns' first live action appearance together but also how fresh the idea is. I'm not trying to say that Batman V Superman isn't exciting because it definitely is but we have had these character numerous times in live action. The Joker on the other hand has only been seen four times total theatrically and Harley of course has never been done live action on the big screen. Once you put all the pieces of the puzzle together you start seeing why Suicide Squad is doing so good and is projected to do better than believed.
This of course has many people wondering if we will be seeing a sequel to the Squad? The answer is actually yes we will be seeing the Squad back apparently according to The Wrap:
Will Smith and Joel Edgerton are attached to star in “Bright,” a cop thriller with fantasy elements that David Ayer will direct from a script by Max Landis (“Chronicle”), TheWrap has learned.
Ayer hopes to fit the project into his fall schedule before Warner Bros. brings him and Smith back for a planned “Suicide Squad” sequel in 2017.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen David Ayer and Will Smith are making a cop thriller! Oh yeah and a freaking Suicide Squad sequel in 2017 with a release date of 2018 maybe? We're not entirely sure when it will be released or if they even will make a sequel to Suicide Squad.
Batman V Superman will be released later this month and Suicide Squad will follow it later this year as the official kick starters for the DCEU. Their success will of course have a large part with the future of DC and if they can kick their cinematic universe of the ground or not. If both are successful the possibilities are endless as to we can see from the future of DC. This will of course also mean that yes indeed we will see a Suicide Squad sequel!
