When [Assassin's Creed Syndicate](tag:3605993) released back in October, it didn't really have a high bar to beat in terms of showing up its immediate predecessor. Last year's Assassin's Creed Unity was by no means a total failure, but it far from managed to live up to the immersive quality that fans of the series had come to expect, both in terms of gameplay and narrative. And the less said about how broken it was, the better.

But Syndicate fared much better, currently sitting in the high 70s on Metacritic (varying dependent on platform), and beating out Unity in terms of second week sales after a slow start. It won back points from some fans and critics for the streamlined combat mechanics and map design alongside the interesting narrative and characters; whilst it's no Assassin's Creed II or Black Flag it went a long way towards renewing faith in the franchise.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate: Jacob and Evie Frye

The first additional content for Syndicate - the Jack the Ripper DLC - released back in December and was focused mainly on the more restrained of the two twins, Evie Frye. January brought us The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy additional downloadable mission, and the PS4 exclusive The Dreadful Crimes is set to come to other platforms this month.

But now it's Duleep Singh's time to shine as the next DLC pack The Last Maharaja is available now across all platforms. Check out the official trailer and synopsis below!

"Join Duleep Singh in his fight to reclaim his birthright as the Maharaja. In his quest to reclaim his heritage, he will take on the Templars and test his friendship with the Queen. Discover ten brand new missions set within London. Available now."

Duleep Singh - the last Maharaja of the Sikh Empire and great-uncle to your Syndicate Assassin contact Henry Green - enlists the help of Jacob and Evie Frye to return gold taken from his home country of India by the British.

An exile from his country, Duleep spent his life lobbying for Indian independence from the British - an endeavor which you aid him with by recruiting politicians - and it looks like he's taking matters further into his own hands here in the new DLC.

The Last Maharaja contains 10 new missions set within London and - unlike Jack the Ripper - features both Evie and Jacob as central playable characters. Hunt down and destroy the Templars and the corruption within the British India Trading Companies, and assist Duleep Singh on his quest to reclaim his birthright as the true Maharaja of India.

'The Last Maharaja' is available now as part of the 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' season pass.
