Although ABC isn't set to officially announce the latest Dancing With the Stars contestants until Tuesday, rumors are spreading like wildfire and yet another exciting celebrity name has been added to the mix: none other than The OC alum, Mischa Barton.
Mischa, of course, is best known for her role in Fox drama, The OC, in which she played rebellious girl next door Marissa Cooper until the character's death at the end of Season 3. Having worked in the business since childhood, Mischa has also appeared in movies Notting Hill, The Sixth Sense and St Trinian's.
She will be joining at least three other contestants already confirmed to have signed on for the reality show including winner of America's Next Top Model, Nyle DiMarco (the second deaf contestant to appear on DWTS), The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kim Fields and Fuller House's Jodie Sweetin, who will be paired with Keo Motsepe. Good Morning America meteorologist, Ginger Zee, is also rumored to be participating.
Sources are saying that Mischa will be attempting to tango her way to the top with Artem Chigvintsev, who has danced on the show for three seasons but is yet to secure a win. The title is currently held by daughter of Steve Irwin, Bindi and her professional partner, Derek Hough. You can see their moving routine, dedicated to Steve, in the clip below:
Derek will not be returning for Season 22 as he prepares for a starring role in upcoming Broadway musical, Singin' in the Rain - and his departure won't be the only shake-up this season. After three seasons on the judging panel, his sister Julianne, a two-time winner on the show, will not be returning, but ex-ballroom dancer Len Goodman will be coming back in her place.
The full cast will be revealed in a live announcement on Good Morning America on March 8 ahead of the season premiere on March 21.
