After being a dad to a bunch of super hot vampires in Twilight and a tech mogul turned villain in the recent TV show Supergirl, Peter Facinelli will star in Fox's new pilot for Zoobiquity, a TV adaptation of the best-selling book of the same name, by Dr. Barbara Natterson-Horowitz and Kathryn Bowers.
Facinelli And Thomason To Play The Lead Roles
Facinelli is set for the part of Dr. Lucas Cort, a brilliant but socially challenged veterinarian who strongly relates to animals. Marsha Thomason (Las Vegas, Lost) will play the female lead, a successful cardiologist named Dr. Kara Martins, who will team up with Dr. Cort despite risking to ruin her career. They will be joined by Kim Raver as Dr. Julia Fowler, the chief of medicine at the Chicago Hospital.
'Zoobiquity' Explores Cross-Species Medicine
Produced by Stephen Nathan and Jon Collier (Bones) for 20th Century Fox TV, Zoobiquity follows Dr. Cort and Dr. Martins as they attempt to develop a cross-species medicine that will cure the world's most incurable diseases.
Will Facinelli Return On 'Supergirl'?
As CBS's Supergirl hasn't yet been renewed for a second season, it's still unsure whether Facinelli's new duties will take him away from his role as Maxwell Lord.
Can you picture Facinelli as a veterinarian?
