A New Team Answers The Call

The movie stars Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates, Kristin Wiig as Erin Gilbert, Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzman, and Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan. This movie is a follow-up to the much beloved movies of the 1980's. The movie is directed by the talented Paul Feig (Bridesmaid,Spy) and written by Feig and Katie Dippold (The Heat)!

I enjoyed both trailers, but being the first trailer I actually think showing less is more. It's really not a bad trailer and makes just as excited to see this new movie.

I love each and everyone of these actresses, which makes me very hopeful that the new movie does well. Kate McKinnon has been the best thing about SNL for a very long time and if you haven't seen Leslie Jones on Weekend Update trying to get sweet vanilla Jost (or her making Leo Dicaprio a ham sandwich, classic), then you really should. Kristin Wiig is brilliant and can anyone say anything possibly bad about McCarthy? Check out the summary for the movie below..

“Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm, Ghostbusters is back and fully rebooted for a new generation. Director Paul Feig combines all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by the funniest actors working today. Get ready to watch them save the world this summer!”

Are You Excited?

I honestly wonder how well this will do financially with a reported budget around 150 million, but after seeing this trailer, I am more convinced that the movie should do well! This movie comes out little under a month of Suicide Squad and two months after Captain America: Civil War. Yes, I know that there are other movies with huge box office potential, but these two movies are almost guaranteed money. After Creed and Star Wars Episode 7 were critically and financially bankable, will the nostalgia rub off on this promising entry?

Ghostbusters opens in U.S. theaters on July 15th, 2016.
