Batman and Superman don't seem to be getting along at all in the Dawn Of Justice trailers, and it seems that Bruce Wayne views Superman as more of a threat to the world than a superhero with the good intention to save it.
But that might not be the only reason Batman has some issues with Superman. In face, another billionaire might be behind it all.
Entertainment Weekly's new cover is getting us hyped for the film's release this month, as it also gives us some insight into puppet-master Lex Luthor's genocide that caused Batman to pit himself against Superman. While the two are distracted by that mess, Luthor uses this as a ploy to continue performing evil deeds, like using General Zod's corpse to create Doomsday:
The rage and anxiety of these two characters is manipulated by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), a billionaire sociopath with a God complex of his own who takes joy in bringing the powerful to their knees. Luthor not only orchestrates a mass murder aimed at turning the two heavy hitters against each other but also uses some Kryptonian relics left behind from the Man of Steel aftermath to cook up a cosmic mutant Frankenstein— Doomsday, partially built from the remains of Michael Shannon’s General Zod.
Just exactly how Luthor fits into the larger plot of Batman V Superman isn't entirely clear. I am also curious to see what other evils Luthor has planned, because killing around 40 people is already insane — he must have much worse in mind for Metropolis and the rest of the world.
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is set to hit theaters this month on the 25th.
