Much like every single movie fan on the internet today, I saw the trailer for Paul Feig's upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. I'm terribly glad he's using mostly SNL cast as the original did, and the bill for the reboot is wonderful. I'm not a fan of Melissa McCarthy myself, but the trailer seems to show a slightly more restrained version of that character she doesn't stop playing. It's exciting!

I do have one concern with the trailer: it's somewhat reminiscent of the trailers for Terminator: Genisys (or however the fuck they spelled it). The reason I say that is that it feels like in some parts it's a best-of compilation with lots of perhaps too-familiar bits and pieces. The library at the beginning is obviously a complete repackage for the new cast, but seeing Leslie Jones' character on a subway track was disappointing. They did the same thing with Winston in Ghostbusters II.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to it and I've not outright laughed at a trailer in a long time. I'm just hoping that the similarities end there and that they freshen it up a bit.

To be fair, it'll be worth the ticket price just to see the Cadillac joke again.
