The Fast And The Furious star Jordana Brewster is cruising over to TV.
She's joining Damon Wayans and Golden Brooks in the Lethal Weapon TV series, an adaptation of the classic buddy cop movies starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Wayans will be filling Glover's shoes as LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh, who has recently suffered a "minor" heart attack which forces him to avoid stress. He's partnered up with former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs, who moves to Los Angeles after losing his wife and baby.
According to Deadline, Brewster will be the female lead and get a lot of screen time with whomever gets the role of Riggs:
Brewster will play no-nonsense Dr. Maureen “Mo” Cahill, the LAPD’s hostage negotiator as well as its in-house therapist. She helps cops deal with their trauma and occasionally gets stuck with a real hard case like Riggs.
If the show does get picked up, Lethal Weapon will be an hourlong series and another remake of a classic movie.
