We've known Jena Malone (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) has been involved in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice since she was spotted on set last summer. However, as this crossover superhero world has continued to unfold, her character remained a mystery.
Today it was announced that in the ever-changing DC Cinematic Universe, Malone's mystery role didn't make it to the final theatrical cut.
Already clocking in at two hours and 30 minutes and with a pretty sizable cast list, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is already a massive production. In a report by Entertainment Weekly, it was confirmed that Malone's portion of the film will only be released on the extended cut:
If BvS sounds crowded, it actually got smaller as time went on. The PG-13 movie’s 2 hour 31 minute runtime will expand further with an R-rated “Ultimate Edition” on home video, featuring even more brutal fight scenes as well as additional hints at future films. There’ll also be some new characters, including a secret one played by Jena Malone, who was cut from the theatrical release.
Tomorrow EW will publish a more detailed report on the BvS Ultimate Edition, so hopefully we'll have more information about what to expect from the bigger, longer edit.
'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' will premiere on March 25
Are you going to watch the 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' Ultimate Edition to see Jena Malone's character?
