Now, as far as ridiculously iconic helmets go, there's really no beating the Star Wars franchise for sheer pop-cultural oomph. Between Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and a whole horde of variant stormtrooper-themed options — to say nothing of Episode VII: The Force Awakens's Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren — the saga has done more to make science-fiction headgear intensely memorable than any other movie series out there.

Which, of course, has consequences.

Now, thankfully, those consequences aren't of the 'galacto-apocalyptic, Padawan-slaughtering, Empire-rising' sort — but rather of the 'creatively inspired fans conjuring their own takes on the basic designs' kind, which means we get to discover that...

Star Wars Helmets Are Just As Awesome When Made From Recycled Parts

As Stephen Schwark over at Schwark Metal has so ably proven, with his series of Star Wars-inspired helmets, all constructed from recycled metal. Which, along with Darth Vader (above), features a certain Mandalorian-armored mercenary...
