DICE recently unveiled everything that fans of Star Wars: Battlefront will be able to pick up in the game's first DLC release, Outer Rim. We'll be fighting amongst the factories of Sullust and battling within Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine, we'll have new weapons to test out, more Star Cards available and a new mode to test our skills in.
Now, while this is all well and good, fans have been pretty shocked and rather disappointed about the heroes and villains that are set to accompany the pack on its undisclosed release date in March. In the words of DICE: "New playable hero characters will have you shooting first with Greedo or targeting foes with precision as Nien Nunb."
Star Wars: Battlefront - Fans Disappointed Over New Heroes & Villains In Outer Rim DLC
Now. When we all imagined the heroes and villains that Star Wars: Battlefront would be introducing after the likes of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett & Darth Vader, we assumed that the established level of quality would be perpetuated. It would seem that DICE didn't get the memo on that one.
Let's take a look at this. "Iconic Heroes." That's the phrase that DICE have opted for when describing Greedo, a "villain" who featured in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope for about 15 seconds before laughably being shot after missing Han Solo at point blank range. That's also the phrase they've used to describe a character that laughed like this:
Nien Nunb sat next to Lando Calrissian (who is an ACTUAL iconic hero, by the way) when the Rebel alliance launched an attack on the second Death Star in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. This hilarious buffoon simply sat there, laughed and made a few shocked expressions.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We may as well be playing as one of the random Ewoks or the Stromtrooper that famously whacks his head off a door! In fact, this image uploaded to reddit by HannibalK seems almost possible following this bizarre announcement:
I've asked myself this question before: why do I keep playing this mediocre game? Star Wars: Battlefront has so much potential and there are moments where it can be genuinely thrilling. But with a total lack of interesting modes and restrictive gameplay in comparison with its predecessors, players are feeling pretty hard done by (especially if you shelled out $120 for this game and its Season Pass - you poor bastards).
If the next pack of DLC for [Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021) is of a similar caliber, I may have to finally abandon this FPS. I can't keep getting disappointed by it when I want it so desperately to succeed. Greedo and Nien Nunb. Are you fucking kidding me?!
