The internet is loaded with fan projects you probably never heard about. Not necessarily because they are bad, but rather because it became increasingly harder to promote a project without a proper marketing campaign. However, when you start to look around, some impressive projects are there, just waiting to be found.

Such is the case of this french project called Tomb Raider: Reborn. Realized by Aurélien Sallé and starring Tiphaine Vaudable, this short film has been heavily inspired by the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot made by Crystal Dynamics. Tomb Raider: Reborn has been made possible mostly with the help of a successful crowdfunding campaign and is set to be released for this spring, without any exact date. The movie is said to have a different take on the character of Lara Croft, more focused on her relationship with her father. But better than a lengthy speech, here's the first ultra badass trailer:

For a short movie, this Tomb Raider project is visually impressive and looks very promising. It has been filmed in two different locations - Switzerland and in the Paris region - and proves, like a lot of other projects before, that ambition is not necessarily related to money.
