Eli Roth (Hostel) has recently abandoned ship as director for the film Meg. The movie is based on Steve Alten's novel about two men that fight an enormous, ancient shark as it terrorizes the California coast. (Only this time, the film will be set in China.)

Meg has been in the works at Disney since 1997, but took a backseat to the other shark flick Deep Blue Sea, which came out in 1999. But now that Warner Bros has the rights, it looks like it's starting to make waves.
