Commissioner Gordon is here and ready to rid the city of crime!

The Justice League has just picked up actor J.K. Simmons as the police commissioner of Gotham City to star alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Amy Adams.

The Justice League: Part One begins filming in April and is expected for a release in November 2017. Simmons has already experienced the superhero world, having portrayed publisher J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films.

Past actors who have played Commissioner James Gordon include:

Lyle Talbot — 'Batman And Robin'

Neil Hamilton — 'Batman' Series

Pat Hingle — Tim Burton's 'Batman' Films

Gary Oldman — The 'Dark Knight' Films

Ben McKenzie — Fox's 'Gotham' Series

I can't wait to see Simmons assist Affleck in protecting the city of Gotham. Just thinking about his commanding voice and presence, I know he will nail it as Commissioner Gordon.
