The Batman v Superman banter brawl between Ben Affleck and his bro Henry Cavill has peaked with a hilarious conversation on Facebook.

Beneath is a promo video released yesterday for the chance to meet the stars, fly in a helicopter and drive around in the Batmobile. As a bonus, it also featured the two heroes having some back-and-forth japes about each other's characters in the new Warner Bros. movie. They commented:

Affleck responds to a jibe from Cavill: "This coming from a guy who destroyed half of Metropolis," triggering over a thousands 'likes.' He is probably referring to the Man of Steel battle between Superman (Cavill) and General Zod.

This airborne brawl smashes each through an endless forest of skyscrapers in Metropolis. It has been criticized for causing what would be millions upon millions of dollars of damage:

Affleck's snipe may also be a clue for the damage Superman causes in the new movie. We already know from this trailer that there's some civilian resistance to the "alien" Superman, which may have been caused by his wanton destruction:

Here's the official synopsis for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

The competition which sparked this interaction is for the charity Omaze, which rewards people for their good causes. Entry costs at least $10 which is to be split between three charities.

In the two-minute film Affleck boasts about his Batmobile, to which Cavill mocks:

"Just trying to think of superheroes that need a vehicle to get around."

Affleck puts on some Clark Kent glasses and retorts:

"I'm not Superman I'm just a mild-mannered journalist who happens to look identical to the most recognizable man in the world."

Jesse Eisenberg swoops in to halt the bickering, saying:

"We can photobomb Henry and Ben on the red carpet."

The BvS marketing team has got the three dancing a merry tune but it's all gold.

Watch Batman flirt with Superman:

Who's better suited to his 'BvS' role: Affleck or Cavill?
