(Warning: If you still haven't seen "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," then plot SPOILERS lie below. Also, you might want to get on that before "Captain America: Civil War" comes out.)

Now when it comes to discussing Marvel Studios movies — and potential plot spoilers relating to them — Anthony "The Falcon" Mackie hasn't historically been all that shy and retiring. In fact, few Marvel-employed actors are anywhere near as willing as Mackie to discuss the ins and outs of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially when the conversation turns toward potential plot ruiners.

Which most likely explains why...

Anthony Mackie Had No Idea He Was in 'The Avengers — Until He Sat Down to Watch 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'

Yup, that's right. It seems that the folks at Marvel — well aware of Mackie's fondness for teasing the press and fans given the slightest opportunity — were careful to tell him as little as possible about what he was filming for Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Indeed, as he recently told IGN:

"When they asked me to do ["Age Of Ultron"], they sent me two scenes. There are two hours and seven minutes around those two scenes, but I never got to read it. When we were at the premiere I was like 'Cool.' I'm with my son and he gets to see his daddy in two scenes in The Avengers. By the end of the movie I turn around and they're like “Avengers Assemble!” I'm like, 'Holy s**t! I’m an Avenger!!' So I turn around to everybody with me and they were like, 'Dude! You're a f**kin' Avenger!' 'This is f**kin' amazing.' So, that's the story of my Marvel life."

What's more, as Mackie also pointed out, that same level of blissful ignorance has thus far been part of his experience on Captain America: Civil War:

"I had no idea. I flew in, Chris [Evans] and Scarlett [Johansson] are up top and the rest of us are standing there. It was like 'Cut. Anthony fly in. Action. Hm-hm-hm. Cut. Alright, thanks!' That was pretty much it. Six months later you go to a premiere and you s**t yourself. Everybody was like 'Why are you so excited?' I'm like, 'Arrhhhahhh... I just found out I'm an Avenger!' That's pretty much how it happened over and over. That's how Cap 2 happened, over and over and over again. So, I'm used to it. I'm interested to see what's going to happen with this movie."

Or, in other words?

Mackie Has No Idea How 'Captain America: Civil War' is Going To End, Either

Which, considering the long-standing rumors about multiple endings having been filmed, is both: a) not all that surprising, and b) probably a really good thing.

After all, part of why we all love Mackie so much is that he genuinely seems to love making Marvel movies as much as we all love watching them — and that kind of enthusiasm could easily translate into some major spoilers, given half a chance.

Ignorance is bliss, and all that.

What do you reckon, though?
