I'm a Fan Theorist. I give ridiculous predictions for movies and TV shows. I'd like to call them "Ridictable Theories"!

I've expressed in my previous posts my opinions on sequels. I like them just as long as They are done right and aren't a money grabbing Disney sequel that ruins the franchise.

When it was announced back in 2013 that Tim Burton was going to be producing Beetlejuice 2 I was excited! The movie is one of my favorite Tim Burton movies growing up. This got me thinking: this will be Burton's first sequel! Granted that Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass is a sequel that he has been working on, the source material is from Lewis Carroll's novels from 1865.

"Shall we?"
"Shall we?"

So far we know that Winona Ryder and Micheal Keaton are coming back to reprise their iconic roles. Will the other cast members from the original film come back for round two? Only time will tell.

This is what Tim Burton had to say over an interview about the well anticipated sequel:

“The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team, we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona and Michael,”... “We have the script in hand – everything is in place all we need to do now is get ready to start filming.”

Recently it has been said that the title for the sequel will be "Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian". Not sure how I feel about that title, but if it's a reference previous scenes from the original movie, then maybe I can jump on the bandwagon.

"Adam... why did you build that?" "I didn't!"
"Adam... why did you build that?" "I didn't!"

Then again the music in the movie does give an island vibe, kind of like what you'd find in Hawaii. I guess that would make sense for it to be the title for the sequel.

Regardless of the title, it is still exciting news that the movie is officially a go. My question is this: what is the plot for the movie? For this post, I would like to predict what I think will happen in the movie, but first let's just be reminded of where the characters left off.

Where BeetleJuice Left Off, and Where It Should Continue

Lydia was living with her parents and the late Maitlands , while Beetlejuice let pride go to his head quite literally, if you know what I mean...

"... This might be a good look for me."
"... This might be a good look for me."

Firstly, we would need a type of origin story for Beetlejuice. All we know is that he was Juno's assistant and later became a "freelance bio-exorcist". It would be nice to know the origin story of how saying his name three times brought him into the land of the living.

Anyway, going back to the plot. I think it will start of with a tragic death of Lydia's husband that made her move away from her old place and take her teenage daughter to a new house.

Lydia's daughter is not liking the new home let alone the new people that she has to try to be normal around. The girl is made fun of at school for her obsession with the paranormal. Lydia struggles to help her daughter act normal, but the girl hasn't been the same since the death of her father.

The girl then stumbles across a familiar book called The Handbook for the Recently Deceased, which her mother kept hidden all these years. The girl reads it thoroughly and even comes across a small flyer that is used as a book. The flyer is an ad for calling Beetlejuice. She says his name three times which then teleports her to the land of the dead in Hawaii.

"It's show time!"
"It's show time!"

While on the island, the girl learns of Beetlejuice's abilities and one of them is to bring the living back from the dead. In the girl's desperate need for a fatherly figure, she asks Beetlejuice to bring back her father. Beetlejuice agrees, but here's the catch... he needs a bride...

And the twist will be will he go for the girl or Lydia for his bride?

Are you excited for BeetleJuice 2?!
