Since the Supergilr/Flash crossover was announced, all of us have been curious as to how they would connect the two tv series. Were "alternate earths" the explanation? Or where they going to reveal Superman lived in the Flarrowverse al along?

Well, CBS has released the first official promotional image for the much-awaited crossover and the official synopsis, which confirms the scarlet speedster and the girl of steel live in parallel earths:

The image recreates the cover for Superman #199, in which Kara's cousin races the Flash instead:

The official synopsis reads:

“Worlds Finest” – Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, March 28 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network. Grant Gustin crosses over as The Flash.

And they also released the guest cast list. In it, there's the interesting revelation of a character named Amelia Hamilton appearing. Could this be the female version of the character Emil Hamilton, who appeared in 'Smallville' and 'Man of Steel' (because, you know, it's 'SuperGIRL').
