Bethesda’s new multiplayer trailer for Doom is very gruesome and oh so very Doom!
We are soon to be ushered into an all new generation of Doom. In May, we welcome the demonic rebirth of a classic. Doom is back, and with an attitude that stinks worse than the Revenant's burning flesh.
Bethesda’s reinvention of the cult shooter is looking incredible. It is an over the top run and gun spectacle that puts splitting wigs and general dismemberment at the very top of the agenda. Check out the multiplayer trailer.
'Splitting wigs' — I was not kidding. The trailer hosts a plethora of kick-ass weaponry including the rocket launcher, shotgun, plasma cannon, static cannon and gauss cannon, among others. With demon spawns and full-on unadulterated rampage — it's almost enough to bring a tear to your eye — Doom is back! Oh how we've missed you.
The game comes with a variety of traditional multiplayer modes, including deathmatch, domination, freeze tag, and clan arena.
In addition to this gore-tastic trailer drop, Bethesda also revealed the dates for the upcoming closed beta multiplayer testing phase. The beta will take place between March 31 and April 3 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. To get involved with the beta you must have either pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order or have signed up to the beta lottery on their official website.
The multiplayer aspect of Doom has been built in collaboration with Certain Affinity, the studio known for crafting multiplayer experiences in Call of Duty and Halo.
Doom has been slapped with a May 13 release date for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
