Around the time of the revelation that Gwen Stefani's husband, Gavin Rossdale, had been cheating on her, the former No Doubt singer was so heartbroken she felt she was going to die.
Fast forward a year, and the 46-year-old is now in a much better place, thanks to a combination of music and a new found love.
A "Juicy Story"
Stefani and Rossdale have now divorced, bringing an end to their 13-year marriage. Although not much has been publicly disclosed, in an interview with The New York Times, Stefani admitted:
“If I could, I would just tell you everything, and you would just be in shock. It’s a really good, juicy story.”
Details emerged of Rossdale's infidelity last year, with allegations that he had cheated on her with their children's nanny. The pair have three children; Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2.
During an interview with the Times, Stefani said she was going to "die" and felt there was no hope.
"The Only Place That Felt Good"
However, during those challenging times, Stefani found solace in her music, working on her new album, 'This Is What The Truth Feels Like.' The creative process proved cathartic. She added:
"Being in that room and being creative, it was the only place that felt good – I was like, I love the smell of this room. It's almost like one of those movies where they discover they have magic. When I was able to write a song, that's when I found my whole self."
In addition to her creative escapades, Stefani has also found a new interest in fellow Voice judge, Blake Shelton. The pair, who have starred on the show since 2014, are now officially an item. The singer added:
"Never in my wildest, craziest dreams would I ever have seen this coming"
