As we get our wallets ready for the box office shattering release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, we may ask ourselves: how close will Bruce Wayne's backstory in this universe be to that of Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy? The League of Shadows played a pivotal role to Bruce's character arc and served well as a plot device throughout the three films, so will Snyder and co. use this as well? Or will it just be a given?
My guess is that Wayne's history with the League may be mentioned, yet unlike Nolan's trilogy this will not be a major plot point. The DCEU (DC Extended Universe) intends on building there universe. Although it may serve as an integral piece of BatFleck's backstory, we may not see it in full swing.
With that said, a Batman solo film may be the most opportune time to debut his history. Whether it be a prequel to the events of BVS or take place afterwards, I think either would work. Of course, The League of Shadow's introduction would have to serve more of a purpose then just a backstory, if it were to be introduced after the initial introduction of our new Batman.
Rumor has it that the solo Batman film will rely heavily on two major storylines using the original comics as source material. Those comics being A Death In The Family and Under The Hood. If these rumors turn out to be true, there are a few spots where things can be changed up a bit. What if a former Robin (Jason Todd most likely) was formally trained by a member of The League, let down by his new mentor Batman and plans to replace him as Gotham's Dark Knight? This is all merely speculation, however I think it could definitely work in this new universe.
