Someone give Oscar Issac’s agent a raise. From a quiet indie star to an action hero, he has quickly become a household name. He first came into our lives in 2007 in Sucker Punch and Drive (although they were smaller roles). Even though he got to work with A-list stars and directors, the films didn’t do well financially and are thought of more as cult classics than anything else. But in 2014, his luck changed when he got involved with the Coen Brothers’ film, Inside Llewyn Davis. Even if the films weren’t box office hits, Isaac hasn’t picked a bad role yet. He’s engrossing whether he’s a good guy or an antagonist. There are too many instances to find all the reasons we love Oscar Isaac but these gifs and videos should help us narrow it down!
1. He's an amazing singer
We first heard Oscar Isaac’s beautiful voice in Inside Llewyn Davis. Showcasing the folk music scene in 1960s Greenwich Village, Issac plays the titular character who wants to become a popular singer. We spend a week with him and watch him overcome insurmountable obstacles, some of them of his own making. One of the best scenes is when he is singing with Adam Driver and Justin Timberlake about not wanting to go into space. It feels so ironic now.
2. His Dancing skills
Isaac is a man of many talents. Not only can he act and sing but apparently he’s also got some dance moves under his belt. His dancing scene in Ex Machina looks like it’s straight out of a David Lynch movie.
3. He's a good listener
When being interviewed with Lupita N'yongo, he made sure that he and his action figure were both paying attention to her speaking.
4. When he hinted at a Finn/Poe romance
Without a doubt, there were sparks flying between Poe Dameron and Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Whether it's a same sex romance or just an epic bromance, they stole every scene together. I don't think anyone would be opposed to some lovin' between them, though.
5. When He Makes Every Girl Feel Special and Wanted
Isaac certainly has a way with words. Whether he's being romantic or standoffish, we still seem to melt at the knees.
6. He's too dreamy as Poe DAMNeron
Whether he was kicking ass as a pilot or being tortured for information, Poe Dameron was one of the best parts of The Force Awakens. By looking at his confident personality, it looks like he will be the new Han Solo of the group. Even though he wasn't in the film for long, he left such a great impression on us. It only makes us wonder what he will do in the next film.
