Miley Cyrus is no stranger to wig-wearing. She may have been sporting a significantly shorter style recently, but how could anyone forget the years she spent living a double life as Disney's Hannah Montana? If you need a reminder, you're in luck, because Miley is going back to her Hannah Montana roots in Woody Allen's upcoming TV series.
The new, as yet untitled, TV series, is set in the '60s, and will run for six 30-minute episodes. The series stars The Birdcage writer Elaine May, House of Cards's Rachel Brosnahan, and John Magaro alongside Woody Allen himself and the former Miss. Montana, who announced the news in an Instagram post back in January.
The caption read:
Fuck yeah ! Stoked to be in Woody Allens first series!!!!! I had claimed 2016 to be my year of "chillin the fuck out" but next to my bed for a few years now has been this portrait of W.A. & I was looking into his eyes when I got the call to be apart of the cast and work alongside the bad a$$ Elaine May & da dude himself! 1960zzzz here I cummmmm
Filming has been taking place in Westchester County, NY but no release date has been revealed. All we know so far is that it will debut on Amazon Prime Instant Video at some point in 2016.
With her Disney days firmly behind her, it seemed as though Miley was beginning to fade out of the starry limelight – but as we all know, she wasn't having any of it. The pop starlet clawed her way back into the spotlight by controversially cutting off all her hair and making sure we knew about it. Four years on and the wig is back, bitches!
