There's no denying that The Ring is an absolute horror classic, but have you ever wondered how the story might actually work if it were set in 2016? Think about it: The Ring tells the story of a VHS tape infected with the spirit of a dead child. After watching the tape the viewer has seven days to pass on the infection on or they'll die.

I can already hear the millennials crying: "A VHS tape? What's that?!" Don't worry, you didn't miss out on anything; most of us were glad to see the back of them. But with videotapes obsolete, where would Samara's spirit hide today?

GeeksOutside knows where. She's pretty much perfectly summed it up in this silly spoof, which both updates the technology and takes a cheeky dig at our addiction to screens, these days. Watch the clip below:

What better way to spread a curse about than through Vine? This brings a whole new meaning to the term, 'computer virus.' Easy share-ability, less time to escape, and a much bigger reach? Samara approves.

The third movie in the franchise, Rings, is set to hit theaters in October this year.

How do you think Samara would spread her curse nowadays?
