Last May Akiva Goldsman was reported to be in charge of a writers room which was assembled to come up with the story for 10 additional years of the Transformers franchise. The Writers Room consisted of Robert Kirkman who created the Walking Dead, The Incredible Hulk screenwriter Zak Penn, Art Markum and Matt Holloway who wrote Punisher: Warzone, Jeff Pinkner who wrote on Lost and more.
The goal of the Writers Room was to come up with these films for the 10 upcoming years and have stories that could tie in similar to what the Marvel Cinematic Universe is doing with their properties at the moment. The stories that they came up with was an animated film, possibly a prequel set on the Transformers home planet of Cybertron, a Bumblebee spinoff and more films following the story of Mark Wahlberg's character, Cade Yager.
Robert Kirkman was always the name most people spoke of when they talked about the Transformers Writers Room but he revealed at a film festival where he helping promote his latest series "Outcast" that in fact he had only spent one day in the Transformers Writers Room. He revealed this by saying this:
