It has been almost 14 years since Xbox Live launched. The online multiplayer platform really set the bar for online gaming, so much so that Sony decided to start the Playstation Network, their answer to Xbox Live. Over 9 long years, we have had to deal with the barrier of cross network gaming. But that is about to change!

Director of [email protected] One, Chris Charla, has announced that soon you will be able to play on Xbox Live with people on PSN! Not only that, but Cross Platform compatibility has been confirmed, meaning you will be able to play people on Windows 10!

Rocket League, the ground breaking game from Psyonix, will be the first to offer cross platform gaming as it already allows PS4 and Windows compatibility!

It's worthwhile noting that cross network is an option left with the developers! If I were a betting man, I'd say that the next Call of Duty title will most definitely be cross network! What other games do you think will allow cross network gaming? Here are a few suggestions;

Grand Theft Auto Online

This is a no brainer. GTA Online is one of the biggest online games on the market. Not to mention the fact that it is free! Almost every gamer on earth has GTA Online, but the game is lacking in players in the recent months, Needless to say, a cross network feature will make everyone come online.

Star Wars: Battlefront

It's universally agreed upon that [Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021) is a half finished game. While the first person shooter thrived in its first few weeks, the number of online players has declined. What better way to bring players back than to introduce an amazing feature and fill up all your servers!

Call of Duty

Everyone has at least one Call of Duty game. It's one of the biggest franchises of all time and the ability to play on all platforms would open up a whole world of possibilities. With COD already being a huge game, you can expect game modes of upwards of 50v50!

This is a ground breaking announcement to say the least, so god only knows what the future holds! Maybe Nintendo could be brought into the fold? Highly unlikely but maybe one day!

What game do you want to be cross network enabled?
