Is Bette Midler the queen of Twitter? Yes, yes she is. And here is the proof.
1. Justin Bieber
When Justin Bieber's peen was snapped by a pap and flung around the net last year, you may recall the singer's father joined the throng of commenters to compliment Biebs on the size of his package.
Jeremy Bieber asked, via Twitter:
@justinbieber what do you feed that thing. #proud daddy
His comment was divisive to say the least and prompted the below acidic quip from Midler:
Around a month later, Bieber swung back via an interview with Billboard. He totally hashed her name up and referred to the stage-and-screen legend as "Britt Meddler," and then followed with, 'Who is this lady?'
Then, in case Biebs's peengate had slipped out of your consciousness, she tweeted a week later:
2. Ariana Grande
In December 2015 Midler discussed the pornification of pop music with Telegraph and picked out singer Ariana Grande to illustrate her point:
“It’s terrible! It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous. I mean, it’s silly beyond belief and I don’t know who’s telling her to do it. I wish they’d stop. But it’s not my business, I’m not her mother. Or her manager. Maybe they tell them that’s what you’ve got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold.”
Grande was reportedly (and understandably) taken aback by the harsh critique, prompting Midler to issue the below sorry-not-sorry tweet:
3. Kim & Kanye
KimYe have been trolled by Midler on more than one occasion. Here are my three favorites:
a) In 2014, this was how she congratulated their marriage:
b) When Kanye released his new album, 'The Life of Pablo,' earlier this year the track "Famous" contained the charming lyrics below:
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”
So naturally, Bette smashed back:
c) Then last week Kim Kardashian posted this self-censored nude selfie on Instagram:
Prompting this amusing shade-filled response:
4. Kris Jenner
After Kris Jenner was booed during a Culture Club show, Bette brought the sass in a major way:
5. Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner has also been on the receiving end of a no-words minced Tweet-slap from Midler, who slammed the transgender celebrity for her political views and party affiliations.
6. Lady Gaga
Everything you can do, Bette can do better and has probably done already — something Lady Gaga learned the hard way in 2011 when she was publicly accused of ripping off Midler's mermaid-in-a-wheelchair shtick.
7. The Oscars
And finally, proving no target is too big for Bette, this year she showed her support for equal opportunities and diversity in typical Midler fashion:
