Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg is playing Superman's arch nemesis, Lex Luthor, in this year's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The actor appeared on Good Morning America and debuted a short clip of the villain commanding Superman to battle the Dark Knight. Take a look:
I've always been confident with the casting of Jesse Eisenberg in the role of Lex Luthor. It was unexpected, but I think with the way they're going to present this character he fits perfectly, and now with this short clip I am completely sure he's going to knock it out of the park.
This short clip also gives us a major story detail: is Superman under Lex Luthor's command? Perhaps, with the destruction of Metropolis, the senate has let Luthor be the man in charge of this super-powered alien? I'm so interested to see how this plays out in the film, and if Superman and Lex do start out as allies in this universe.
Eisenberg is also great in this interview. He speaks volumes about how good Chris Terrio's script is and how Snyder allowed the actors to create their characters. It sounds as though Luthor has a lot of levels to his character and that there's a lot more to him than just the eccentric billionaire we've mainly seen in the marketing. I'm very excited to see his performance.
