Earlier this week we were in for a treat after learning that a third Princess Diaries movie could be in the works, with both Anne Hathaway and director Garry Marshall on board. In the 15 years since the original and 12 since the sequel, Hathaway has gone on to get married, win an Oscar and get pregnant, but she hasn't forgotten her roots.

Disney's The Princess Diaries was Hathaway's debut film, and she's finally ready to return as Her Majesty Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, Queen of Genovia. Marshall noted that production would have to wait until after Hathaway gives birth, but that the project would hopefully be green-lit soon.

It sounds like Hathaway is definitely interested, but we have to wonder who else from the other films will make an appearance.

Julie Andrews as Queen Clarisse Renaldi

Age then: 65

Age now: 80

Royal fun fact: The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement was Andrews' first time singing in public or on screen since her throat surgery in 1997. The first take filming "Your Crowning Glory" reportedly had the cast and crew in tears.

Anne Hathaway as Mia Thermopolis

Age then: 18

Age now: 33

Royal fun fact: We all know that Hathaway nailed her movie debut playing the Princess of Genovia, but some of the awkward clumsiness was authentic. In the scene where Mia and Lilly are talking, she falls on the bleachers. That actually happened during filming and Marshall thought it was funny enough to keep in the film.

Heather Matarazzo as Lilly Moscovitz

Age then: 18

Age now: 33

Royal fun fact: In the scene where Lilly plays basketball, Matarazzo made a basket straight away on both her first and second attempts. Matarazzo and Hathaway have remained close friends since the first film, so maybe Lilly will return in the third installment.

Robert Schwartzman as Michael Moscovitz

Age then: 18

Age now: 33

Royal fun fact: In one scene, we see Michael playing the keyboard and singing in the fictional band Fly Paper and performing the song "Blueside." The ditty was actually by Schwartzman's real band Rooney, in which he plays guitar and sings.

Chris Pine as Lord Nicholas Devereaux

Age then: 24

Age now: 35

Royal fun fact: The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement was Pine's first major film debut. In the movie, Pine is referred to as "Prince Charming" by Mia. He eventually went on to play Prince Charming in another Disney adaptation, Into The Woods.

This just goes to show that when Anne Hathawill, Anne Hathaway. This time around, she's making the 12-year-old Disney fan in all of us super excited. Bring on Princess Diaries 3!
