It seems like not only does DC Comics have a Lobo movie in progress, but according to The Wrap it looks like the project is moving forward with screenwriter Jason Fuchs writing the screenplay. Jason was also was the screenwriter for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie set to come out next year.

The Wrap reported that Jason will essentially scrap all previous drafts and start from the very beginning.

The production on this film began all the way back in 2009, and Guy Ritchie was set to direct. Heck, even Dwayne Johnson was in talks to play the bounty hunter, but is now set to play Black Adam in the future Shazam film. Even the gruff Machete actor Danny Trejo expressed an interest in playing him, though no reports were released that he was approached by Warner Bros.

For those of you who don't know, Lobo is a cosmic bounty hunter and mercenary, and the last of an alien race called the Czarnians. He's the last, because he killed off his entire race. Soon after that, he started collecting bounties across the universe, going up against his fair share of heroes along the way. Despite his ruthless nature, he holds a code of honor to these agreements. Some of his abilities also consist of:

  • Superhuman Strength
  • Immortality
  • Superhuman Speed
  • Genius Level Intellect
  • Multilingualism
  • Expert Fighter
  • Regeneration

He became extremely popular as an antihero in the '90s, being depicted as a ruthless biker with some colorful catchphrases. Later on in the New 52 his look was changed, as seen above, to look more modern.

Warner Bros., however, has yet to confirm (or deny) these allegations, so take this information with a grain of salt. However, don't be surprised if we start seeing more reports on this project, and we might just see our Main Man on the big screen soon.
